A sweet little Fall page

This page is based on a layout in the Fall/Winter CTMH Idea Book. I just loved it and wanted to duplicate it for Erin's party at the beginning of the month. However, it needed a second page. I threw an acceptable one together and added a few little details and am quite happy with the results:



The paper is from the Olivia paper kit and also features accents and accessories from the Sunset Mini Medley as well as the Pear Mini-Medley. I also took some buttons from the Basic and Autumn packs.

I think everyone enjoyed putting this page together and hopefully you can draw some inspiration from it as well.

November Layout Choices

November. Seriously!?!?!?! I honestly can't believe it's time to start thinking about November groups. You all know I like to write but I'm going to keep this post short because I think I better go out and enjoy fall while it's still here.

So, here they are . . . your 3 choices for November:





As per usual, we meet the first Saturday of each month and November is no exception. Please join us on Saturday, November 6th from 8 AM - 8 PM at the Community Blood Center in Appleton. This will be the last month we'll be meeting at the blood center - we're switching to Sabre Lanes Banquet Hall in December. Why? Because winter is coming up and our doorbell freezes in winter and we don't want stranded scrappers sitting outside in the freezing temperatures trying to get our attention. There's a few other reasons but none of them involved any hard feelings toward the blood center at all. We thank them for letting us use their space for well over a year now and we encourage you all to go give blood there regularly :)

If you're interested in making any of these pages in November, please RSVP as soon as you can. There will be no third Friday crop in November due to the Scrap for Sienna. If you'd like your pages brought there or to Scrappin' for Hope on November 6th, please let us know and we'll make sure to get them to you.

Our October Scrap Playdate Choices!

Isn't Fall just filled with all kinds of wonderful opportunities to scrap? From pumpkins and piles of leaves to halloween and pre-holiday traditions, it's more than just my favorite time of the year . . . it's my favorite time of the year to scrapbook!

This first layout choice, "It's Pumpkin Time", uses two of CTMH's brand new colors just unveiled in the new catalog this month . . . Sunset and Pear. There are also a few little peeks of paper from the new "Olivia" paper packet. From the pumpkin patch to pumpkin carving to baking your famous pumpkin pies, you can get tons of mileage from this adorable layout. It's definitely putting me in the mood to capture those inevitable "gross, this is slimy" look on the kids faces as they are gutting their creations. Although there are only a few spots for photos, by adding a few flip flaps the possibilities are endless.

When Marla first started creating this next layout, "You're a Hoot", in - like - June (overachiever!) I immediately thought of some pictures I had of the kids playing with their cousins in woods. It has a definitely outdoorsy feeling ready to hold all your silly pictures. HOWEVER, over Labor Day weekend we happened to get some pictures of my entire extended family. I'm pretty sure my family is a hoot and I think these pictures will take the place of honor on this adorable fall layout.



Now for my contribution. When I saw the new Hooligans paper packet and matching felt monsters, I knew I wouldn't be any kind of a consultant unless I created the cutest Halloween page ever. Of course, the pressure was too intense so I took some very strong ques from a page that was create by the CTMH corporate staff. OK, I pretty much CASE'd their "Little Monsters" page. But isn't it adorable? Besides all of the cute, new Halloween papers and accents, we'll also be using items from the brand new Pear Mini-Medley. I just can't wait to get this year's trick-or-treating pictures in here.

Here's a peek at the workshop for this month. This is actually a flip book, though it's hard to tell from the photos. I gave the book the title "Christmas Recipes" but included with the workshop is an entire sheet of letter stickers so you can call your book whatever you'd like. There are (24) 6x6 pages in the flip book, all of them decorate using the new Mistletoe paper packet and ready to take 4x4 recipes printed right off your computer or 4 x 4 pictures or whatever you can imagine for your book.

The workshop fee for the Christmas Recipes book is $20 and includes the flip album, 1/2 pack of Mistletoe papers plus plenty of extra cardstock all pre-cut and ready for you to put together, a sheet of color ready alphabets, a pack of the new Mistletoe charms and flowers, plus tons of addition ribbons, three dimensional elements, and embellishments.


Finally, our card workshop for the month. These five cards all use various paper packets and have various themes. All the cards are high-level work so expect to take a little extra time with them this month. There are tons of details that need to be attended to. The cost for the 5 card workshop is $10 and includes the envelopes.

September Workshop Choices

Holy macaroni . . . there are A LOT of workshop choices for our September Playdate!!! If you are free on September 11th there is absolutely no reason not to join us :)

First up is a back to school page by Marla. My kids just went back to school this morning so it's a subject that's especially near and dear to my heart today. Marla used papers from the Stardust paper packet and lots of school themed-stamps and paraphernalia. With the title "School Rules", this layout is absolutely perfect for pictures of the first day of school or any school day!



Next up are two single pages by Colette . . . aren't they adorable? This first one is ready for your s'mores pictures. Come on - I know you have the perfect pictures for this page. If you don't, time to go take some just so you have a reason to scrap this awesome little page.

As a complimentary or stand-alone page, this next page is super cute as well and just begging for your BBQ pics to be attached. Don't have the perfect pictures? Not to worry . . . there's still a few days of summer left!

Oh, and there's Flip Flaps on this one . . . right there in the burger layers. I LOVE IT!

Here's my contribution for the month. My kids have some Packer pictures just waiting to be scrapped and I thought you might have some too. If you don't, skip down to the next choice!

See, when I designed the Packer page I forgot about a very important group of ladies . . . the Aurora, IL girls! Yeah, they don't have any use for Green and Gold and so Caryn graciously designed a layout for them and she's more than willing to share! Put ANY sports pictures in this layout . . . Caryn's ready with stamps for every sporting occasion so bring it on!

Simply let me know if you'd like something other than a football in the middle and it's as good as done!

If you made it through the layouts, then you're a real die-hard. Next up is the 5 card workshop by Marla. Marla used the beautiful Grace papers for all these cards. All the parts and pieces can be yours for the bargain price of just $10 for 5 cards.

FINALLY . . . my second contribution to the month is an interactive workshop layout. The workshop will include these two layouts for $20. With your $20 fee you will receive not only all the parts and pieces for this workshop but also the page protectors, a full pack of Basic Brads, a full pack of Alphabet stickers, and a full pack of A-door-ables. What a deal!

These layouts will take quite a bit of time so make sure to allow yourself plenty of time to complete them.

September Layout Selection - Packers Fan-atics

With football season starting up again, it seemed appropriate that I make a Packer's page for my contribution to September's layouts. Although I HATE the colors Green and Gold, I was quite happy to come up with a layout that I didn't hate using the back sides of some of the Stardust papers. The giant football is paper pieced and since I have templates made now, hopefully all future layout makers will have a much easier time with it then I did. Additionally, embellishments include Sunflower and Topiary brads as well as twill ribbon.

Of course I wasn't thinking about our Illinois girls when I designed this page but the good news is there is blue on the back of the green paper! With some minor modifications, you ladies should be all set to go!

Upcoming August Workshops

Hello friends! I know it's been a long time since I've posted (been on a bit of a hiatus) and when I finally did get around to posting tonight you'll find it's a lot of repeats. However it's time for our ladies (and Jim) to start picking out their projects for August if they haven't done so already and putting them all together in one post seems the easiest for them..

Remember that August starts our new club format and is centered mostly around the three layouts we'll offer each month, one by myself and the other two by Colette and Marla. Typically.

I think you should all know that these beautiful cards were actually created by Colette's sister, Caryn, even though she's too shy to admit it :) Thanks for your services this month, Caryn! I hope we see you as a guest designer again soon!

Finally, Calendar Club will, of course, be offered as well but isn't completely done yet. That's my contribution this month and I've been busy relaxing and vacationing and conventioning in D.C.

So Happy

This layout was very inspired by fellow consultant, Paula Goforth. When I saw her layout I knew I wanted to do something very similar for my Autumn Terracotta group, who always has an extra party each month outside of their hostess club.

This very unique layout is from the Imagine book and I've always wanted to make it but have been scared off because of the side cuts. Turns out they're really easy so this will likely turn up as a hostess club layout yet. The paper is from the Silhouette Level 2 paper packet and the stamps are from "True Happiness" and the Tickled Pink set we received last May as a promotional special. The flowers are from the Spring Blossom Just Blooms and the ribbon is from the Black Ribbon Rounds (which I believe are out of stock and no longer available) as well as the Cherry-O Creative Basics (the red velvet ribbon).

Marla's Hostess Club Design Debut . . . July Hostess Club Layout

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to you all you Mom's out there! Hope you were all properly spoiled yesterday :)

For all my reader's in Hostess Club, we've got a few changes coming down the pike. I'll e-mail you all the details shortly but here's a few I'd like to share with you. First of all, my friend Marla Krause has decided to join Colette and I and help design monthly layouts for our groups. This will enable us to offer you all more choices in the future. To start out with, however, we have decided to cram June and July hostess clubs into one day in June to accommodate everyone's crazy summer schedules. So, Marla designed this wonderful 4th of July page as a choice:



This page, along with the "You are My Sunshine" page designed by myself and the "Found with the Heart page" Colette created, will be offered in June. Hostess Club members will be able to choose 2 out of the 3 layouts to create free as part of their membership perks. Here are the other two options for you:





In return, we are asking all Hostess Club members to double their minimum in June to $32. The rewards for the month will then be split between the June and July hostesses.

We hope this takes pressure off of many of you who were not going to be able to make it in June. When we meet again in August it will be with a new format.

You are My Sunshine: Hostess Club Edition

I'm pretty sure that the new "Splendor" paper packet in the Summer Idea Book is my favorite paper packet ever. EVER. And maybe for all time. Just wait until you all see the Stickease! This is not the last you've seen of this paper :)



I designed this layout as an option for Hostess Club members for their June layout. Besides the Splendor paper, I also used "Treasures" stamp set. Colors are Moonstruck, Topiary, Goldrush, and Heavenly Blue. I used some of the white posies from the Just Blooms posies tube (which are on sale starting May 1st!) I also colored some sparkles Moonstruck and Goldrush for flower centers and ribbon tacks.

Colette's June choice will be done with the new Passages paper packets and will be available to check out soon.

Happy Campers!

When I was little my family and I often camped with a group of my parents friends from church. They informally thought of themselves as the "Happy Campers". That little tidbit has always stood out in my memories and so it was no big surprise that it came to mind when titling a recent camping layout.

I originally designed this layout for June Hostess Club but upon talking to Colette and discussing her plans for a Father's Day layout for that month, I decided that this was one dark-colored, masculine page too many. So it is now a selection for July.



For this page I used papers from the Back Country Level 2 paper packet along with stamps from Campin' Fever. The colors include Outdoor Denim, New England Ivy, Olive, Crystal Blue, Barn Red, Goldrush, and Autumn Teracotta. Oh, and a little Cocoa ink. I also used some Pewter photo clips and lots of hemp.

For whatever reason I have a very difficult time creating camping pages . . . perhaps it is the masculinity of the colors, which I don't love as much as the bright, floral-y colors and designs. If you have the same problem and need a little inspiration for some old camping photos, I hope you find it here.

May Hostess Club Layout Selections

Here they are . . . May layouts! This first layout was created by Colette and is very stunning in person. Colette used the Bella paper packet (an old favorite of both of ours!) and the Blooming Flourishes stamp set. One of the most eye catching details is the paper flowers that she'll teach hostess club members to make this month.


Next up is my contribution . . . Thoroughly Amused. This page is for all of you who, like me, have a ton of Bay Beach, Great America, County or State Fair, etc. pictures laying around. I added both a vertical and horizontal 4 x 6 photo frames so you can add lots of Flip Flaps . . . which I KNOW I'll be needing.

This page is made up mostly of papers from the Animal Cookies paper packet. Stamps for the title are from Vroom caps (retired) and Posterboard Alphabet (not retired!)
