Sydney's Banner

I just finished up this adorable little banner for my neice, Sydney. She turns one in a few weeks and I thought my sister would appreciate it. More information is listed under the "Miscellaneous Projects" tab, along with some other projects I've recently completed. Check them out!

Enjoy!

A few Christmas Projects . . .

I have a few customers that have purchased the new Ornaments 3-dimensionals lately as well as the Mix n' Mingle album and I promised I'd get these creative ideas up on my blog for them. We made these projects at our consultant Create Day a few weeks ago. The artists of the originals are Beckie Lehman (the Noel garland) and Kristy Schoon (the ornaments). Thanks for the inspiration, girls!

Our October Scrap Playdate Choices!

Isn't Fall just filled with all kinds of wonderful opportunities to scrap? From pumpkins and piles of leaves to halloween and pre-holiday traditions, it's more than just my favorite time of the year . . . it's my favorite time of the year to scrapbook!

This first layout choice, "It's Pumpkin Time", uses two of CTMH's brand new colors just unveiled in the new catalog this month . . . Sunset and Pear. There are also a few little peeks of paper from the new "Olivia" paper packet. From the pumpkin patch to pumpkin carving to baking your famous pumpkin pies, you can get tons of mileage from this adorable layout. It's definitely putting me in the mood to capture those inevitable "gross, this is slimy" look on the kids faces as they are gutting their creations. Although there are only a few spots for photos, by adding a few flip flaps the possibilities are endless.

When Marla first started creating this next layout, "You're a Hoot", in - like - June (overachiever!) I immediately thought of some pictures I had of the kids playing with their cousins in woods. It has a definitely outdoorsy feeling ready to hold all your silly pictures. HOWEVER, over Labor Day weekend we happened to get some pictures of my entire extended family. I'm pretty sure my family is a hoot and I think these pictures will take the place of honor on this adorable fall layout.

Now for my contribution. When I saw the new Hooligans paper packet and matching felt monsters, I knew I wouldn't be any kind of a consultant unless I created the cutest Halloween page ever. Of course, the pressure was too intense so I took some very strong ques from a page that was create by the CTMH corporate staff. OK, I pretty much CASE'd their "Little Monsters" page. But isn't it adorable? Besides all of the cute, new Halloween papers and accents, we'll also be using items from the brand new Pear Mini-Medley. I just can't wait to get this year's trick-or-treating pictures in here.

Here's a peek at the workshop for this month. This is actually a flip book, though it's hard to tell from the photos. I gave the book the title "Christmas Recipes" but included with the workshop is an entire sheet of letter stickers so you can call your book whatever you'd like. There are (24) 6x6 pages in the flip book, all of them decorate using the new Mistletoe paper packet and ready to take 4x4 recipes printed right off your computer or 4 x 4 pictures or whatever you can imagine for your book.

The workshop fee for the Christmas Recipes book is $20 and includes the flip album, 1/2 pack of Mistletoe papers plus plenty of extra cardstock all pre-cut and ready for you to put together, a sheet of color ready alphabets, a pack of the new Mistletoe charms and flowers, plus tons of addition ribbons, three dimensional elements, and embellishments.

Finally, our card workshop for the month. These five cards all use various paper packets and have various themes. All the cards are high-level work so expect to take a little extra time with them this month. There are tons of details that need to be attended to. The cost for the 5 card workshop is $10 and includes the envelopes.

And that's it! If you're interested in completing any of the layouts, cards, or books, please let myself, Colette, or Marla know as soon as possible!

Upcoming August Workshops

Hello friends! I know it's been a long time since I've posted (been on a bit of a hiatus) and when I finally did get around to posting tonight you'll find it's a lot of repeats. However it's time for our ladies (and Jim) to start picking out their projects for August if they haven't done so already and putting them all together in one post seems the easiest for them..

Remember that August starts our new club format and is centered mostly around the three layouts we'll offer each month, one by myself and the other two by Colette and Marla. Typically.
Here are the choices:

Happy Campers

You're Sweet:

And (2) 1 page layouts that will be $3 each instead of the $6 per 2 page layout.

Beachy Keen:

And, finally, Yummy:

Additionally, our workshop this month was created by Marla and is a Moon Doggie 9x9 accordian vacation album. So cute!!!!

And, last but not least is the 5 card workshop for the month. These cards were created by Colette . . . wait, hold the boat! I think you should all know that these beautiful cards were actually created by Colette's sister, Caryn, even though she's too shy to admit it :) Thanks for your services this month, Caryn! I hope we see you as a guest designer again soon!

Finally, Calendar Club will, of course, be offered as well but isn't completely done yet. That's my contribution this month and I've been busy relaxing and vacationing and conventioning in D.C.

I hope to see many of you readers at our Work Day on August 7th. Remember, there is no longer any type of a committment involved with these project days. You simply purchase the projects you'd like to complete and sign up for the next month if you're interested.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

My biggest scrapbook layout ever!

OK, there's no room for pictures on this 7' x 3' bulletin board but I thought I'd share anyway since most of the paper is CTMH. You never know where you might find some inspiration!

This was my big project yesterday for my kids' school. Their school year theme is "Storing a Treasure in Heaven" so I was excited to accidentally stumble on an idea that tied into the theme.

I used a wavy cutter for the seaweed and the sand and I have to admit my husband did all the hard work on getting the perspective lines correct for the treasure box. The sea creatures, rock, and the treasure box are all hand drawn and paper pieced, though, so at least I can take some credit for something.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

My Last Pumpkin of the Year . . . I promise!

I absolutely adore these little pumpkins treat holders! These were originally posted on Jeanette Lynton's blog (www.jeanettelynton.com). The first two I posted were gifts for my kids' teachers and this one I made for my display table at the Scrap for Alexis that I vendored on Saturday. My favorite part about these little bowls are that they take a matter of minutes to put together and cost way less than $1 to make.

To make your own pumpkin bowl (maybe next year!), cut (12) 1" x 7" strips. Adhere them to the top inside of a small terracotta pot and then again at the bottom. I just used glue dots to attach them. I took a 3/8" x 12" piece of matching cardstock and wrapped in the inside to cover up the ends of the strips. Then cut out a few leaves and curl (2) 1/2" x 12 inch strips of paper around a pencil. Adhere those as well. And wa-la! Cheap, easy, and soooo cute!

Well, since this is my first post of five planned posts today this will be on the bottom of the five. So I just wanted to take a minute to say "thanks" for checking out my stuff today and sorry, again, for taking so long to get them up!

Enjoy your day!

Countdown to Christmas

Now before you take a look at the pictures, you MUST know that this awesome little advent calendar was designed and prepped by my friend Beckie Lehman. We put these together at a recent consultant get-together but I wasn't able to attend and finally got mine done this weekend.

If you live around here and are interested in making this, please see Beckie's blog at www.createwithbeckie.blogspot.com as I see she's doing a workshop on this item! If you have any interest at all, please consider doing Beckie's workshop as purchasing all the needed pieces and cutting everything out will take you FOREVER!

To make this advent calendar, Beckie used both a Jingle Level 2 paper packet and the Jingle Creative basics. All the pieces are on a CTMH My Creations Artboard and the tins are from www.specialtybottle.com. Absolutely ADORABLE! My kids can't wait for December to try it out . . . I wonder what I should put inside?

A Little Sneak Peak . . .

Alright, I've obviously got a lot of work to go before I can officially unviel this project but I wanted to show you all a workshop that is in the works. Slated for, perhaps, January. I've always wanted to make a special 12 x 12 layout of each of my kids and hang them on my scrapbook room wall. When Colette brought me a 12 x 12 frame on Saturday and told me she had 44 of them, my mind started spinning! Before you know it, I had drawn little thumbnails of seven different designs I'd like to create and offer to customers to make their own home decor. I've started on the first layout, seen below, but obviously have a lot of embellishing to go yet.

Stay tuned . . . it promises to be a great workshop!
